Are you planning a honeymoon vacation to Malaysia? Good choice, you’re in for a memorable getaway! Find below a spectacular honeymoon itinerary to experience Malaysia truly :
Day 1: Arrive into the Capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
Kickstart your ideal honeymoon itinerary by landing into Kuala Lumpur, the largest city in Malaysia. Ideally, I would suggest taking a flight that would land in the morning or early afternoon so there’s enough time to check in to your hotel and to relax before heading out to explore the city. Kuala Lumpur is known for its many skyscrapers, charming culture, delicious local cuisine and of course, shopping in its many famous malls.
You can start off the day through a city tour that would take you around to all of the famous attractions. You will experience all of the iconic landmarks such as the famous Petronas Twin Towers located within a mall called the Suria KLCC, where you can shop till you drop, get an amazing view of the city’s skyline from the KL tower, immerse yourself in the historical and colonial architecture of the city by visiting the national mosque and the monuments, such as King’s palace, interact with locals, enjoy the delicacies offered at local markets and much more. There is no better way to experience Kuala Lumpur than through a half-day city tour.
Post the city tour, you can use your leisure time as you wish. I would highly suggest spending your evening in the colorful Chinatown. Its vibrant night market has everything to offer starting from nightlife, shopping to the best oriental street food. If you’re looking for more of a higher-end experience, I would suggest spending the evening in the central hub called the Golden Triangle where you can find an array of well-renowned restaurants, large shopping centers and nightclubs where you can party till dawn.
Day 2: Visit Batu Caves and Genting Highlands- Hill Station of Malaysia!
Start your day off by halting at the Batu caves en route to the Genting Highlands. The Batu temple and caves attract a number of visitors every year as it’s an important place of pilgrimage for Hindus. The caves also have an abundance of flora and fauna making it picturesque.
Next stop, you will be escaping the heat of Kuala Lumpur, in the hill station of Genting Highlands located an hour outside of the city. Take the cable car ride which is 6000 feet over sea level to the top to get a spectacular view of the tropical rainforest. Genting Highlands has a number of activities to keep you entertained throughout the day including the rides in all of its theme parks, shopping centers, temples and the largest casino in Asia- Casino De Genting.
The day ends with returning back to Kuala Lumpur for a peaceful sleep before another exciting day.
Day 3: Create memories in Langkawi Island.
Take an internal flight from KL city and land into the beautiful island of Langkawi. It is known for its pristine beaches, luxurious resorts, gorgeous scenery and an expanse of fun water activities to experience. Once you check into your accommodation, it is time to kick back and relax.
You can choose to do some water sports in the resort or relax by the beach. Post which, you can head out to ride the cable car that will take you up to the famous sky bridge where you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the lush rainforest surroundings while being 700 feet above sea level! The evening will be the perfect time for a romantic stroll down the beach and enjoying the gorgeous sunset. End the day with a candlelit dinner by the beach or you can surprise your beloved with a dinner cruise! If you’re looking to experience the local culture, you can head down to one of the night markets to enjoy local treats.
Day 4: Time to go Island Hopping.
Every Langkawi itinerary is incomplete without island hopping. It consists of 104 islands. I would recommend taking the speed boat for easy access to tour these islands. Usually the main islands are highly crowded with tourists. If you’re looking for a romantic and offbeat experience, I would highly suggest visiting the uninhabited islands that your local boatsman will be able to suggest. You can enjoy a picnic lunch on a remote island without too many tourists flocking around. You can opt for a half or full-day excursions according to your convenience.
After a wonderful day out, head back to your resort for a night’s rest.
Day 5: Time to bid goodbye.
It’s the final day of your honeymoon. With a heavy heart, it is time to say goodbye. You can finish any extra shopping you would like to do in local duty-free shops before heading to the airport. Take your international flight back to India concluding your trip with a heart full of memories.
